Perry County is located in the U.S. state of Arkansas. Its population recorded was 10,445 as of the 2010 United States Census. The county was formed on December 18, 1840, and named for Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry, naval hero in the War of 1812. Perry County has 685 miles of county roads, and 70% of the county is either U.S. Forestry Service or private timber companies. The total square miles for Perry County is 561.0; land is 550.9; and inland water is 10.1. Perry County is rich in natural resources, including our pristine water quality, so you can enjoy hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, and boating.

The local economy is based on timber companies and small business owners. Perry County has two high quality school districts – Perryville School District #7 and East End Bigelow School District #1.
